













Baijt and Stichting Rainbow produce Ephraim Kishon's most successful comedy "The Marriage Certificate", in Hebrew with Dutch subtitles.
“The Marriage Ceritficate” (Ha-Ketubbah) is an Israeli play, in Hebrew, written by the famous Hungarian-Israeli playwright and satirist Ephraim Kishon (1924-2005.)
This comedy is the story of a couple, that discovers after 25 years, that they may not have ever been legally married. They can’t find their marriage certificate, and this puts at risk the imminent marriage of their daughter ... time is short, the groom is in panic and the race to find the document finally comes to a happy ending.
“The Marriage Certificate” was a great hit on Israeli stages, since 1961 it was produced 7 times in Israel, in Hebrew and in Yiddish. In 1963, when the play was on Broadway, Kishon was asked in an interview to explain its phenomenal success: "The play is about the life of ordinary people - the family of a plumber. It is important and useful to write of ordinary people, because kings and presidents come and go, the plumber remains, making him the most important person in the world."
The director is the renown Kameri director Roy Horovitz
and the main actor is the Habima actor, Michael Koresh.
